New PROJECTS FOR PARTNERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT (we invite you to pray about partnership and involvement in these outreaches and projects below):
“YOUTH-SPEAK”- Youth are a neglected people’s group in Africa. Its a phenomenon opposite of what we are accustomed to in the West (where youth is everything hip, in style, MTV, etc). In African society the issues of youth, temptations, pressures, sexuality and many other questions have yet to be adressed. This new outreach is set to be one of our greatest goals at Shiloh House Mission- half the worlds population (approx 4 billion people) is under 18 years of age, and God’s plan is to set them aflame with their glorious purpose in Jesus Christ. We are expectant as God directs this critical outreach and discipleship- more soon.
*Initiative for African Girl Child (IAGC) is an international NGO registered in Kenya. These people are facing the stigma young girls face throughout Africa- menstration and other adolescent issues. Young girls in Kenya are often exploited and overlooked, and we are glad to be in partnership with IAGC. What other way to make the Gospel more practical than preserving a persons dignity through hygiene, care and removing the ‘taboo’= the stigma causes so many girls to struggle with shame and fear. .IAGC was founded by Samuel Karanja= Shiloh House Mission just returned (9-14-09) from a needs assessment survey with IAGC- meeting 5 local school principals who are elated that this NGO (non-governmental organization) reached out in love and practical goodwill.
*Chesongo Basin Water Project: We are in rural partnership with the following local leaders and chiefs in Rift Valley/ Baringo Central and Baringo North. These small dams and boreholes bring new life into the community. Water is a huge challenge in this part of Kenya. Sometimes children awake at 4am to gather 5 gallons of water, sometimes scooping the water from a polluted source -one cupful at a time. We are looking for qualified volunteers/contractors who want to work to see water projects completed to hydrate these arid regions of East Africa. Lovemercy.com are proven organizations whom we dialogue and discuss projects with here in the driest regions of Kenya.
*Orphans and Widows Outreach- These people abound all over Kenya and Africa. We hesitate to install a “program’ which attracts usually the wrong type of people, who usually come for money/the appearance of money from the West. Contact us for opportunities and ideas about this vital ministry in Africa. Shiloh School of Missions will be knitting together this outreach with their coursework.
*It’s a great responsibility of Shiloh House Mission to bring the right people who God is calling to work in parts of Kenya and East Africa. Pray ‘God send laborers to your harvest field- send the children’s workers, teachers, medical workers, intercessors and people who love to God and people.’ 4 teams are expected to come in 2009-2010.
*Muslims and the Messiah: The underground church is alive and well in East Africa. Pray for great boldness and power as they win disciples from within the mosques of Somalia and Ethiopia. We spend time encouraging, praying for and partnering with this awesome new harvest field. We just returned from the porous border regions of Northern Kenya and witnessed a vibrant radical church. The greatest revival with salvation and miracles is about to come to these unreached countries and regions!
Is the Lord Jesus Christ stirring your heart towards prayer, evangelism and outreach to the unreached on the African continent? Pray about becoming a regular prayer partner/financial partner- $20-$30 dollars per month accomplishes so much in these distant East African villages. Giving only one dollar per day is like planting a seed in God’s Kingdom which will in turn bear many trees with seeds!Jesus’ destiny for all of us is to bear fruit. Fruit- the lives of people who turn to God and learn to love and serve Him in prayer and practicality.
Let God lead you and you will discover our secret at Shiloh House Mission- its a joy to be partners in the harvest here in Africa! This is how we began our Mission nearly 10 years ago, because we found the joy of loving God and seeing peoples lives transformed.
Please contact us at shilohhousemission@gmail.com for any questions or to be put on our monthly intercessor updates and alerts.
